Weekly New Mexico Hay Summary
Week ending Oct 11, 2008

Compared to last week, all classes of Alfalfa hay steady. Fifth
cutting are mostly complete. Trade active, demand good. Southern
and southwestern regions between fifth and sixth cuttings. Eastern
and southeastern regions are 75-100% into 5th cuttings.

Eastern region:

Baled Alfalfa: Large square bales: Premium and Supreme quality: 220.00-
245.00, good quality; 190.00-210.00 delivered to Dairies. Fair quality
ground hay delivered to feedlots 180.00-190.00 per ton.

Sudan hay: Large square bales 125.00-130.00 per ton.

Southeastern regions:

Baled Alfalfa: Large square bales: Premium and Supreme quality 200.00-
230.00, Good quality, 180.00-190.00, Fair quality 150.00-170.00 delivered
to dairies. Premium quality small bales 210.00-250.00 out of barn.

Southern and Southwestern region:

Baled Alfalfa: Large square bales Premium quality: 190.00-210.00, Good
quality 160.00-185.00, delivered to dairies. Utility quality 80.00-100.00.
Small square bales Premium quality: 6.00-7.00 per bale out of field,
220.00-250.00 per ton delivered.
