Recently I have had a string of deaths of four claves, all through the same symptoms. They start to suit so we withdraw milk and start electrolytes but then they go right off those and I have to tube them. After this the calf goes down hill fast, losing ability to stand and bloating hugley. I then don't know wether to carry on with the electrolytes as it seems they were just sitting in the stomach. With two cases and I did and the other two I didn't...they all died! The death comes after a plateau of 4-6 days of high tempertaure (40 degrees!), being tubed, no abilty to stand and huge squitting and bloating. The four were :-Freisan Bull (2 weeks)
Simintal Heifer ( 3 weeks)
Limouzan Bull ( 9 days)
Freisna Heifer ( 12 days)
Please help as I have two more coming down with it!
Thanks
FG
P.S I must mention that thye are inside, in pens, and the ill calves were isolated as soon as it developed but the cases were from all over the farm!

I suggest to get rid of them from the place so that other calves wont be affected. Im very sure they are hit by a virus. Have them examine for an accurate answers.
