Cattle and Calves: 734 Week Ago: 383 Year Ago: 1,281
Compared to last week: Feeder Steers and heifers over 600 lbs traded steady
on a light test and under 600 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher on a limited test
with most increase on the lightest weights. Good run of cows but last week’s
limited test made a comparison difficult, however the undertone was higher than
last week but lower than the last full test two weeks ago. Bulk of the supply
Medium and Large 1-2 700-900 lbs feeder steers and heifers. Trade and demand
moderate to good. Slaughter cows made up 15 percent of the offering, slaughter
bulls 2 percent, replacement cows 5 percent and feeders 78 percent. The feeder
supply included 60 percent steers and 40 percent heifers. Near 67 percent of
the run weighed over 600 lbs.
Steers: Medium and Large 1: pkg 437 lbs 129.00; pkg 678 lbs 113.00.
Medium and Large 1-2: 300-400 lbs 124.00-128.00; few 440-450 lbs 114.00-
127.00; pkg 585 lb 109.00; pkg 695 lbs 107.50; lot 709 lbs calves 103.00.
Medium and Large 2: pkg 594 lbs 98.00; pkg 713 lbs 105.00.
Heifers: Medium and Large 1: pkg 295 lbs 121.00; few 405-452 lbs 109.00-
113.00.
Medium and Large 1-2: few 304-341 lbs 109.00-112.00; pkg 558 lbs 95.00; pkg
fleshy 690 lbs 97.00; 700-800 lbs 102.00-107.25.
