Got this item as birthday present and love it. Works quite a bit better than my previous cheaper GPS

Not bad , but not as good as other reviews I read. I'd recommend buying the Oregon for the price difference.

Lost my first Garmin 60 CSX on a deer drive and after researching new models on the market, I ended up buying the same unit again. Quick satelite connection, good screen display and easy to use format, it's hard to go wrong with this item



Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Unit Great Customer Support Very Very Poor !!!!
I have owned this unit for a few years now. I have had no problems with it and it performs very well. This unit does everything that I had ever expected of it.

I am now trying to upgrade the maps that came with the unit. After several attempts their downloaded software will not load for me. After paying them $70 for the update I called their help line and after a 15 min wait their person tells me that I need Tech Support. I am transferred and told that I must wait 45min-60mins before I can talk to someone.

Buy this unit and just pray that you never need help because you may spend the rest of your life looking for it from Garmin.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 4 years later, it's a Garmin Hall of Fame
I have this unit for about four years now. It has been used mostly for car navigation (N.America cities maps) and weekend hikes and trail MTB. Even though it's meant for outdoor activities, but it has kept me from being lost in major Japanese cities and rural areas (Japan map). What really surprised me is that how well it tracks Shanghai Maglev when it was traveling at its top speed at 271 miles per hour (youtube keyword:shanghai maglev garmin 60csx)

I'm being a geek and was thinking to replace it with newer model. But after a brief search on the net, apparently 60csx has a better screen than the newer models when viewing under the sun. Plus the new features on the newer models aren't that much different than 60csx. In some ways, 60csx is better than the newer models. I just need to upgrade the 2gb micro SD (paid $50 four years ago, now it's like $7 lol). Amazon's 550+ reviews with 4.5 stars is a true reflection of this Garmin Hall of Frame.
