Rating: - Great sax playing
As always, David Sanborn's sax playing is without compare. He is a master of technique that is able to etch a considerable amount of emotion and character into everything he plays. My big beef with this disc is that it seems watered down. Most of the things I enjoy about a Sanborn disk, rhythmic, musical and tonal complexity are, for the most part, absent from this disk. The guest appearances are great, especially Sam Moore, who absolutely knocks it out of the park. But for the most part, this disk just left me flat.

I didn't care for it at all. The whole CD didn't sound like the music David Sanborn is capable of.

have enjoyed David's music for 20 years now, and he rarely disappoints. this album is more of a blues album, which is a slight change in genre for him, but is still worth the listen.

Great album, been a couple of years since Dave's last CD. This is the original David Sanborn.
Rating: - Excellent salute to some old blues tunes
I have been a fan of David's for almost 30 years and I am always very impressed by his music both live as well as on cd (or LP for that matter.) I have had the pleasure of meeting David several times and can say he is just as genuine a person as he comes across through his music. This cd is no exception. It contains some great interpretations of some old standards and also features some excellent vocal performances. It comes across as though it was recorded live in the studio but I'm sure it was not...though I guess it is possible. Anyhow, it certainly has that sound. Very acoustic and the horn section sounds fabulous. It is well worth the purchase.
