![]() Rating: - Could be betterBoth sections start off with interesting information but then quickly dies into a ponderous 2 hour video that students will not sit through. The narration puts me to sleep. I can only use the first 20 min or so of each section before I need to turn it off. Rating: - Population Statistics that impact allNear-term demographics that all should be aware of. Excellect summary of where our world is headed. Rating: - Fabulous film for more mature high school studentsTypical of NOVA, this is a film with solid film-making, substance and appeal. It addresses some mature themes such as impoverished African women forced into lives of prostitution and the effects of AIDS in Africa. Its real-life interviews and serious themes require a more mature high school audience, but they will be riveted throughout the film. It clearly addresses human population dynamics, a required topic in upper Biology classes. Rating: - World in the BalanceI used this in an AP Environmental Science classroom and it had the attention of all 24 students, and that is rare, even in an AP class. Excellent presentation that produced many different discussions about the future of the planet. Highly recommended. Rating: - WORLD IN THE BALANCETHIS IS A GREAT VIDEO SERIES! I USE THEM IN MY CLASSES! VERY RELEVANT FOR TODAY'S ISSUES. | |
